It’s The Details That Matter Most

Once every 50 years or so, we get hit with an epic storm. In the spring of 2021, the OKC metro experienced a heavy downpour, high winds, and devastating hail.

Our customer, J.P., experienced softball-sized hail that heavily damaged the roofs on his home, shed, and pergola, as well as the home’s siding. It even broke holes in his window frames.

Work We Did

New Metal Roof for Home

Upgraded from 26 Gauge to 24 Gauge

New Pergola Awning

New Roof for Shed

The primary challenges we faced during the J.P. project were the extremely high demand for roofing services and delays getting materials because of the pandemic. Luckily, our diligence and attention to detail helped us get J.P.’s home back in shape as efficiently as possible.

“Vlad and Zach went the extra mile to get things done in a timely manner and stayed on top of things. The whole crew was outstanding. They really made us feel comfortable and sure everything would be alright, they would be on top of it, and they would get it done.”

— W.P., Homeowner

Identifying Problems Before They Struck

When a major storm hits AND there are supply chain and staffing challenges because of a pandemic, the potential for problems is high.

However, our team was prepared to identify and handle curveballs before they had a negative impact on the J.P. project. Some challenges we stopped before they started were:

Finding The Right High Heat Pipe Jack

J.P.’s home had a unique design on the chimney pipe. To make sure that our repairs were up to city code and would be waterproof, we had to find just the right materials. The specific high heat pipe jack we needed ended up being difficult to find.

Our team visited several of our usual suppliers with no luck, but our persistence paid off when we finally found the correct one.

Metal Roofing Supplier Ordered The Wrong Materials

With a high volume of roofs being ordered in the region, small mix-ups were bound to happen.

The supplier we used for J.P.’s new metal roof entered the family’s color choice incorrectly, but our team caught and corrected the mistake before the order even went through.

Materials Slow To Arrive

Most homeowners in the OKC metro experienced at least some delays in getting their materials because of challenges with manufacturing and shipping materials nationwide.

Our goals were to get materials as efficiently as possible and keep J.P. informed of any changes in the timeline. We communicated often, sometimes daily, as we received new information about materials and scheduling.

High Demand for Subcontractors

There were so many homeowners in need of help following the massive storm. Our team was spread thin, as were many other subcontractors who were working on the same homes as our team.

Completing J.P.’s roof replacement took careful schedule management, especially when some crews became delayed because they got sick. Though we couldn’t prevent delays from the virus, we stayed in communication with all parties and got the work done as efficiently and safely as possible.

“As a problem came up, they wouldn’t let it go until it got fixed. Resiliency and attention to detail are their strong suits. It’s the best company I’ve ever worked with.”

— J.P.

A Sturdy New Roof

It took a little time to get the materials for the home, but J.P. upgraded to a higher-quality roof that will stand up to future storms better than his last. We were also successful in getting the work covered by their insurance provider, less the additional cost of the material upgrade.

Even though we aren’t likely to see another storm of this magnitude for decades, do as J.P. has done and save our number in your phone just in case.
